Shakthi Jothianandan is a journalist turned screenwriter in New York City. She is a graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University and has a certificate in Television Writing from the UCLA Professional Program. She has written for New York Magazine, People, The Wall Street Journal and others. She is an official selection for The Dead List, and has placed in the PAGE Awards, We Screenplay Diverse Voices Competition, Launchpad Pilot Competition, Big Apple Film Festival Screenplay Competition, Los Angeles Screenplay Awards, Shore Scripts TV Pilot Contest, Stage 32 Horror competition, Screencraft TV Pilot and Horror competition, and was a Second Rounder in the Austin Film Festival Competition. She was a semifinalist for the Outfest Screenwriting Lab and attended Stowe Story Labs in 2023.
